It's done.

Journal Entry: Sun Jan 11, 2015, 9:14 PM

Ever since I was a kid, whenever anyone asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up, I always said, "I want to be an author and illustrator." Though I could barely form the words, the weight of their truth remained with me through the years.

I used to spend hours upon hours writing stories, accompanying them with illustrations on each page. When most kids were grounded from playing outside or visiting friends, I was grounded from writing. My parents used to have to take away my floppy disks (remember those?) just to get my head out of the clouds long enough to complete my homework. (It didn't work.) Little did they know, I still kept copies of the disks and printed copies of my stories so I could write with a pen on the sly. (So rebellious.)

Following high school, I was left with a treasure-tome of hundreds of pages of incomplete books, uncounted chapters leading to nowhere, binders and binders of outlines and notes, portfolios and sketchbooks of characters and illustrations, and dozens and dozens of discarded ideas... But now for the first time in my life--from beginning to end--I have actually FINISHED a story!

The script for my graphic novel BLIND FOLLIES: The Flower and Death is finished!

Two-hundred-and-seven planned comic pages; fifty-five pages of typed text; seven total chapters; one script...

Words can't describe what it feels like to see the full arc in its entirety. I also can't say how daunting it is looking ahead at the world of work that waits for me. But I am all the more excited for the journey now that I have the road map! It's bound to be a long learning process. Wish me luck!

Oh no no that's okay. Actually, I knew you and many artists will be at the con, but because of unexpected turn of events, I had no chance to meet anyone. I didn't even get the chance to chat with Gisu, nathan and michael who sat on a table right next to me!

Unexpected turn of events? Hope all was ok! But yeah, I was bogged down with commissions and when I could leave my table I had to run specific shopping errands, so not much visiting other artists either.

It was so great meeting you in person at Fanime Saturday. I hope the rest of your con went well and I wish you and Lily all the best!

I'll be looking forward to seeing you at Fanime next week, I'll be cosplaying as Big Macintosh. How's your cat doing?

Not sure if I saw you at Fanime, but Lily is doing ok. She's all better after a painful recovery and is finally able to run, jump, and play with our other cat again. I may have to take her back in to get another small lump looked at. I suspect this one might be a stitch left behind that was healed over, but we'll see.

No pictures with me so far. But if you look at my deviantart ID picture, my Big Mac cosplay is right there, so you'll know who I am if any pictures of me DO get posted, or if you passed me in the convention center.

I'm terribly sorry. I had no idea where the art gallery was because it wasn't in the convention center this year. But I'm glad your cat is better now. Although I may be in some posted pictures of the MLP FIM gathering, I haven't checked yet.

Yeah, they were supposed to post tons of signage directing traffic to the artist alley and not only did they not do that, but we weren't even on the official map of the convention! So that was pretty upsetting... I'm sure I'll see you at another convention eventually. :)

I'm so sorry to hear about your kitty! I hope she's okay! :/ Spending money we don't have on our little babies is worth it.

Thanks. And yeah, the cost hurts, but not as much as it would hurt to lose her. Gotten a lot of support though, so I should be able to slowly work off the cost.
